[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 12/3/2012

raw-recap

Raw 12/3 Preview:

  • The Shield (Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins/Roman Reigns) made yet another statement at the end of last week’s show, taking out not only Ryback once again but also the WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No. While they claim not to work for WWE Champion CM Punk, evidence continues to mount towards the contrary, and there’s a good chance these three former NXT stars will once again make their presence felt.
  • Vince McMahon will be on the show tonight, for reasons yet unclear but given how crazy things have been getting over the past few weeks, he’ll undoubtedly have plenty to say.
  • Speaking of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Daniel Bryan and Kane seemed to have finally buried the hatchet over the past week and are finally getting on the same page. But given their antagonistic personalities, it’ll be interesting to see if they can make it last.
  • Last week John Cena appeared to silence his harshest critic, Dolph Ziggler, by pinning him clean in the center of the ring. However Ziggler has not let the feud go, continuing to antagonize Cena on Smackdown. With tempers flaring and tensions mounting we may be in for another Cena/Ziggler match…perhaps at a certain PPV coming up soon.
  • And as for Cena and AJ Lee…it looks like they seem to be getting much more friendly in recent weeks due to the accusations and attacks brought on them by Vickie Guerrero and her associates. But it seems Lee might be just a little more into Cena than vice versa. Given how the past month has gone show-wise, we’ll be sure to be treated to another chapter of WWE’s ongoing soap opera story.
  • World Heavyweight Champion The Big Show made a statement last week by taking a chair and dismantling it right in front of his TLC opponent Sheamus. With their “Chairs Match” only two weeks away, it’ll be interesting to see how the feud continues to progress.

[TV Results] WWE Friday Night Smackdown – 11/30/2012

WWE-Friday-Night-Smackdown (Small)

This week on Smackdown Damien Sandow continues to tread water, John Cena makes a rare wrestling appearance, and in the main event Dolph Ziggler takes on former World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. And given Sheamus’ upcoming match against The Big Show at TLC, you can guess how that one turns out.

[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 11/26/2012

Raw 11/26 Preview:

  • After putting Ryback through a table not once but twice last week, the mysterious “NX3” (Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins/Roman Reigns) have a lot to answer for and tonight Michael Cole will try to get those answers in their first ever live interview.
  • Vickie Guerrero brings out even more evidence of a John Cena/AJ Lee “affair”. Deja vu, much? Also the John Cena/Dolph Ziggler feud that has sprung from this scandal continues and it’s Ziggler’s turn for revenge after being locked in an STF last Friday on Smackdown.
  • The Sheamus/The Big Show feud continues as we get closer to their “Chairs match” at next month’s TLC.
  • As of today, the WWE Championship reign of CM Punk has lasted 371 days with no end in sight. However Ryback is still on the hunt. Will there be a match announced for TLC? Who knows!

[TV Results] WWE Main Event – 11/21/2012

Here are the results from this week’s episode of Main Event on Ion Television. I watched the show but didn’t pay enough attention for analysis so we’re going to bare bones it like we usually do. All the more detailed stuff can be found over at ProWrestling.net thanks to Chris Shore who has a way better attention than I…ooo squirrel!

Match Results:

  1. Dolph Ziggler pinned The Miz.
  2. Wade Barrett pinned Justin Gabriel.

Segment/Storyline/Etc. Notes:

  • JBL joined Michael Cole on commentary this week since Cole’s normal co-host, The Miz, was in action.
  • Before their match, The Miz and Dolph Ziggler had a heated confrontation on the microphone. Ziggler essentially called Miz washed up while Miz hit back with accusations that Ziggler is a choke artist who always drops the ball when it matters most. Ziggler slapped Miz and the ref entered the ring, getting the match started right away.
  • After the match, Matt Striker attempted to interview Dolph Ziggler in the ring, but Ziggler grabbed the mic and shooed him away. Ziggler said that over the past week, he has proved that he is better than everyone in the locker room and warned them that he was just getting started, also throwing in an “I’m not done” towards John Cena in particular. Ziggler concluded with a catchphrase, “show…off”, which wasn’t all that spectacular.
  • Damien Sandow came out to cut a promo and conclude the show. He said that he would be challenging John Cena on next week’s episode, calling Cena the WWE’s “ultimate false idol”.

[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 11/19/2012 (‘Survivor Series 2012’ Fallout)

Raw 11/19 Preview:

  • With his (somewhat tainted) victory last night at Survivor Series, CM Punk will officially celebrate his 365th consecutive day as WWE Champion. Given the man’s ego and the massive accomplishment, don’t be surprised if he celebrates as obnoxously and heel-ish as one would expect from the “Best in the World”.
  • The other big news item coming out of Survivor Series is the arrival of NXT standouts Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns who threw Ryback through the Spanish announce table, effectively costing him the WWE Championship. The question remains: was this an attack orchestrated by Paul Heyman to protect his client or was this another Brad Maddox-situation where three young guys decided to take matters in their own hands to finally get noticed? Here’s hoping we get some answers, as well as some mic time for Ambrose. And speaking of Ryback, something tells me he won’t take this screwjob lying down…
  • Now that Cena has once again been come up short in the WWE Championship hunt, it is time for him to refocus on the whole AJ Lee/Vickie Guerrero storyline, which now has an added wrinkle in the form of Tamina Snuka who attacked Lee during their segment at Survivor Series. With that and Dolph Ziggler‘s win for his team last night, the bad guy side of this feud seems to have the upper hand. Jury’s out on what the next chapter of this soap opera will be, but I bet people will be bitching about it either way (including this guy).
  • Sheamus may have defeated The Big Show last night but it was by DQ and therefore he is not the World Heavyweight Champion once again. He didn’t take so kindly to this result and proceeded to decimate Show with a series of chairshots followed by a Brogue Kick for good measure. With TLC coming up as their next PPV, it looks like we’re headed down the “C” part of that road. No, not c*nt.

Match Results:

  1. Sheamus pinned Wade Barrett.
  2. R-Truth defeated Heath Slater by DQ when Jinder Mahal interfered.

Storyline/Segment/Etc. Notes:

  • The Miz returned to the announce table alongside Michael Cole.
  • The Big Show joined Cole/Miz on commentary during the Sheamus/Barrett match. At the end of the match, Show left the announce table and Sheamus stared right at him as he delivered the Brogue Kick to Barrett. After his win, Show clapped then held his belt up high at the entrance stage.
  • Matt Striker attempted to interview The Big Show and was given a K.O. Punch for his troubles.
  • Team Hell No Vs. The Rhodes Scholars was announced for next week’s show.

[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 11/5/2012

On this week’s edition of Raw:

  • The show comes live to tape from jolly ol’ Birmingham, England so there’s a good chance you can find spoilers. Don’t though; this is a much better and cooler recap.
  • Brad Maddox will make his first appearance since costing Ryback the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell.
  • Vickie Guerrero will present video evidence of John Cena/AJ Lee‘s alleged “affair”. Expect Cena to retaliate and for Dolph Ziggler to also get involved.
  • With two weeks to go until Survivor Series, expect the WWE to continue building its already announced matches as well as (hopefully) add a couple more.

All this and much more on this U.K. edition of Raw. Click “read more” for a detailed recap of the entire event plus my own thoughts.
