[TV Results] WWE Friday Night Smackdown – 1/18/2013

WWE-Friday-Night-Smackdown (Small)

It was celebration time this week on Smackdown as Alberto Del Rio held a “fiesta” to celebrate his new reign as World Heavyweight Champion. U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro was also in action and Randy Orton teamed up with Team Hell No to take on I.C. Champion Wade Barrett and The Rhodes Scholars in a six-man tag.

[TV Results] WWE Main Event – 1/16/2013

WWE Main Event

Here are the results from tonight’s episode of WWE Main Event on the Ion Network, courtesy of Chris Shore‘s far more detailed coverage over at ProWrestling.net.

Match Results:

  1. Randy Orton defeated *WWE U.S. Champion* Antonio Cesaro by Disqualification in a non-title match when The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns) interfered (23:42).
  2. The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) defeated The Prime Time Players (Darren Young & Titus O’Neil) when one of the Usos pinned Young (12:05).

Other Notes:

  • The Miz hit the ring to help Randy Orton fend off The Shield after his match. Miz was taken out with a spear by Roman Reigns and Orton was given a triple powerbomb for his troubles. After The Shield bailed, Antonio Cesaro slithered in and took Miz out with The Neutralizer.
  • With his announce partner out due to the attack by The Shield and Cesaro, it appeared that Michael Cole was going to call this show alone but in came Brad Maddox out of nowhere to take Miz’s place. Maddox was over the top and ridiculous and once the match ended he immediately took off. There was no hype for next week’s show at the conclusion.

[TV Recap] WWE Friday Night Smackdown – 1/11/2013

WWE-Friday-Night-Smackdown (Small)

With a Friday off and the potential for an actual eventful Smackdown, I’ve decided to give the show a shot this week. The main event tonight is The Big Show Vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Last Man Standing match. WWE has already spoiled who wins, but I won’t be doing the same because of reasons. Also The Rock will be in attendance. That’s a thing.

[TV Quick Recap] NXT – 1/9/2013

NXT Recap

This week on NXT it’s all about the NXT Championship as Seth Rollins defends against Big E Langston in a No-DQ match. Will The Shield get involved? Spoiler alert: A-DUUUUUUUH. Also on this week’s show The Wyatt Family takes to my new favorite jobber tag team and the “Anti-Diva” Paige goes one on one with Australian Diva Emma.

[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 1/7/2013

raw-recap

The first Raw of 2013 is looking to be a promising one…if you ignore the whole “three hour” thing. Here’s what to expect:

  • The Rock returns to start building his WWE Championship match with CM Punk at Royal Rumble…that is if Punk can survive the TLC Match against Ryback scheduled for the main event.
  • Dolph Ziggler and his cohorts AJ Lee and Big E Langston will be looking for revenge on John Cena after he ruined their New Year’s toast last week by, sigh, dumping poop on them.
  • Alberto Del Rio will continue to defend the honor of his best buddy Ricardo Rodriguez against World Heavyweight Champion The Big Show.
  • More superstars will announce themselves as entrants in the 2013 Royal Rumble match.
  • The Shield will continue to cause more chaos…and with the return of Randy Orton they might have a foil willing to get in there and stop them.

Click “read more” for a full-blown recap of the show, plus my own thoughts and blatherings. I’m sure you care more about the latter rather than the former. Continue reading

[TV Quick Recap] NXT – 1/2/2013

NXT Recap

The Shield makes their presence felt in the first episode of 2013 and with NXT Champion Seth Rollins now on the dark side it’s up to Corey Graves to defeat him and bring the belt home. Also in action, Kassius Ohno & Leo Kruger debut as a tag team and Bo Dallas continues his masochistic ways.
