[The Matches]

1. John Cena/The Miz defeated The Rhodes Scholars when Cena pinned Damien Sandow in 12:03.

  • [Notes]: This match was set up during the opening segment of the match when Miz had Cena on as his guest for MizTV. Rhodes Scholars interrupted and trash talked them, leading to the opening match.

2. Antonio Cesaro (c) pinned Sgt. Slaughter to retain the WWE United States Championship in 1:48.

3. Team Hell No (c) defeated 3MB (Heath Slater/Drew McIntyre) [w/ Jinder Mahal] to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship when Daniel Bryan pinned McIntyre in 6:06.

4. Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler [w/ AJ Lee and Big E Langston] by DQ when The Shield interfered in 14:00.

  • [Post-Match]: The Shield gave Sheamus the triple powerbomb and Michael Cole read a statement from the trio.

5. The Big Show (c) defeated Ricardo Rodriguez [w/ Alberto Del Rio] by DQ to retain the World Heavyweight Championship when Del Rio interfered in 2:26.

  • [Notes]: Show picked Rodriguez to be his opponent backstage earlier in the show because I guess all the champions could pick their opponents tonight. Sounds like they had, how you say, an “Open Fight Night”?
  • [Post-Match]: Del Rio took down Show with step up enziguri to rescue his friend and personal ring announcer.

6. Wade Barrett pinned Kofi Kingston (c) to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 10:29.

[The Segments]

-WWE held a New Years party backstage through out the show that culminated in Mae Young giving birth to Hornswoggle as The Great Khali coached her through it. So that happened. Others who showed up during these random segments include Vickie GuerreroThe Prime Time Players and David Otunga.

Brad Maddox asked CM Punk and Paul Heyman to help him land a WWE contract but they brushed him off.

-WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres challenged Mae Young to a match but since she couldn’t make it due to giving birth (sigh) then she automatically won. Kaitlyn then came out to brawl with her instead.

CM Punk and Paul Heyman came to the ring with their “personal physician”. The doctor showed X-rays of Punk’s knee and said he wouldn’t be cleared to wrestle Ryback next week as promised. Vince McMahon came out to interrupt the proceedings and said that if officials didn’t clear Punk next week, Heyman would defend the WWE Championship for Punk in the TLC match.

-A supposed handicap match between Ryback and The Shield never materialized as Rollins/Ambrose/Reigns attacked him before the match got going. Sheamus came out to help but was also taken down. Randy Orton then made his big return and cleared the ring, giving Ambrose an RKO for his troubles.

Dolph Ziggler came out to end the show with AJ Lee and Big E Langston. Ziggler sarcastically toasted the crowd for voting John Cena as “Superstar of the Year”, mocking his terrible 2012 and the fact that he was no longer on Ziggler’s level. Lee then toasted Ziggler as the next “Superstar of the Year” and they made out in the ring. Cena interrupted, made some bad jokes (including a photoshop of what Ziggler/Lee’s kid would look like), then announced himself as an entrant in the 2013 Royal Rumble.
