[WWE News] Kenneth Cameron Released Following November 22nd Arrest
It has been reported by ProWrestling.net that following a November 22nd arrest, NXT wrestler Kenneth Cameron has been released from his contract. Now there isn’t “official” word per say but his profile has been removed from NXT’s website and sometimes that’s really as official as it gets, especially if the release is due to something this potentially embarrassing for the WWE. Cameron, real name Thomas Latimer, was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer. If you really want to you can see his mugshot, as well as the charges, by clicking here (ugh I feel like a NEWZ site just posting that link).
Although probably not well known as mainstream WWE fans, Cameron has become a familiar face to those of us who watch NXT through his association with Conor O’Brian in the tag team known as The Ascension. The team had a supernatural bent to its gimmick (from their look to their penchant for appearing out of nowhere staring down at their opponents) while their in-ring action focused on a ground and pound style. Recently The Ascension has been engaged in a long rivalry on NXT with The Usos (Jey Uso/Jimmy Uso). O’Brian remains with NXT but given this abrupt change it’ll be interesting to see if they repackage him or have him keep The Ascension gimmick alive either in singles action or with a new partner.
