[TV Results] WWE Main Event – 10/31/2012

Here are the results from the Halloween edition of Main Event. All information comes from Jason Powell‘s live coverage of the show over on

Match Results:

  1. Randy Orton/Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara defeated Alberto Del Rio/The Prime Time Players (Darren Young/Titus O’Neil)
  2. Wade Barrett pinned Tyson Kidd.

Storyline/Segment/Other Notes:

  • Michael Cole and JBL handled commentary for this week’s episode; is The Miz done with the show?
  • It was announced that Brad Maddox has been suspended due to his actions at Hell in a Cell.
  • After the six man tag team match, Alberto Del Rio said that he wasn’t done with Randy Orton and hinted that something would go down this Friday on Smackdown.
  • Cole and JBL teased that Vickie Guerrero would have video evidence of the John Cena/AJ Lee affair this Monday on Raw.
  • After Barrett dispatched Kidd, he got on the mic and said that if he had gotten the shot against Sheamus at Hell in a Cell he would have been champion instead of The Big Show. This brought Sheamus out, who challenged him for next week’s show. So that main event is set.

WWE Main Event airs every Wednesday at 8PM/7PM Central on the Ion Network.

[TV Recap] WWE Raw – 10/29/2012

It’s the night after Hell in a Cell and there are many questions left unanswered: why did Brad Maddox cost Ryback the match against CM Punk? What “photographic proof” will Vickie Guerrero unveil to further implicate AJ Lee and John Cena? What will new World Heavyweight Champion The Big Show have to say now that he has successfully ended Sheamus’ 6 month reign as champion? Will Cena and Dolph Ziggler get into it once again?

All this and more awaits you on this week’s edition of Raw. Click “read more” for full coverage of the show in all of its overly detailed glory.

[Indy Wrestling News] NWA World Title Update; Eight Man Elimination Match Scheduled for 11/2

More information to report concerning the NWA World Title match scheduled for November 2nd; NWA affiliate NWA DAWG will play host to the crowning of a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion on November 2nd at an event titled “Wrath of the Champions” at Clayton High School in Clayton, New Jersey. The title, vacated by Adam Pearce over the weekend but officially vacated by the NWA yesterday, will be put up for grabs in an eight man elimination match with the final man standing earning the right to hold the 10 pounds of gold. The eight men scheduled to face one another are:

  1. Chance Prophet (Current NWA Ring Warriors Bahamas Champion)
  2. Lance Erikson (Current NWA Mountain State Champion)
  3. Damien Wayne (Current NWA DAWG Champion)
  4. Jason Kincaid (Current NWA Smoky Mountain Champion)
  5. Anthony Nese
  6. Papadon
  7. Biggie Biggs
  8. Lance Anoa’i

Those of you familiar with ROH’s “Survival of the Fittest” will undoubtedly feel right at home with the structure of this match. Having little concrete knowledge of the NWA at large, I can’t give you a concrete prediction on who walks out with the title but one of those eight man will become the new face of the Tharpe-era NWA going forward so I hope they choose wisely.

For more information on the event, including other matches signed, head to NWA DAWG’s Facebook.

[Etc. News] “Diamond” Dallas Page Helping Jake “The Snake” Roberts Mount a Comeback

In an interview with Newsday, professional wrestling legend “Diamond” Dallas Page announced that he is currently in the process of helping fellow legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts get back into shape for a potential comeback to the squared circle. The process began three months ago in Gainesville, TX when Page contacted Roberts and offered to help him get back into shape (Roberts at the time was 302 pounds) using his “DDPYoga” program, a low-impact workout system Page himself developed to cope with a series of nagging injuries he had related to his in-ring worked. Page has since expanded the program which is used by athletes and non-athletes alike to great results.

Roberts has already lost 35 pounds thanks to the program and Page has moved him to a house in Atlanta to continue the workouts as well as train the 57 year old superstar on how to use current day social media (Facebook and Twitter, for example) to both self-promote and connect to his fanbase. Naturally with both being used to being in front of the camera, the Page/Roberts union is being taped for a possible documentary on the recovery and (hopeful) return of Roberts whose “personal demons” have continually derailed his career and life over the past thirty years (most notably chronicled in the 1999 documentary Beyond The Mat which showed Roberts as a broken-down drug addict who had thrown away his legendary career). Page will be keeping tabs on Roberts’ sobriety and if he slips up even once, Page will kick him out of the house and end the treatment.

This story has the potential of becoming one of the ultimate comeback stories if Roberts can stay healthy and stay off the drugs/alcohol. Much respect to Page for reaching out like he has to help a fellow journeyman; yes it’s good promotion for DDPYoga but he is going above and beyond the call of duty here and doing more good than most wrestlers ever find themselves doing. I’ll be keeping an eye on this story as it develops and keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t end in yet another Roberts tragedy. You can do this, Snake.

For more information on DDPYoga and how you can jump onto the program, check out the official website.

[Indy Wrestling News] NWA Championship Vacated; New Champ to Be Decided in November

Over the weekend, Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce ended their months-long “Seven Levels of Hate” with a cage match taking place in Australia. However much had changed since the series began and when it came time for the final contest, the National Wrestling Alliance decided to not sanction the match, effectively taking away the belt both men had been fighting over for most of 2012. Well the match went on anyway and Cabana emerged victorious, and afterwards Pearce and Cabana both decided they didn’t want the belt and they left it laying in the center of the ring. *(EDITOR’S NOTE: Check out the video below for what went down)*

Although this gesture effectively vacated the NWA World Heavyweight Title, the NWA made it official on their website today via president Bruce Tharpe. Here’s what he had to say.

The NWA™ World Heavyweight Title has been vacated. The Board of Governors wish former champion Adam Pearce the best in his future endeavors. There will be a new NWA™World Heavyweight Champion crowned on Friday, November 2nd in Clayton, New Jersey.

So there you have it. The NWA World Heavyweight Title will once again have a new home come Friday and with Cabana and Pearce gone, I have no idea who they’re going to move to that spot. I won’t even venture a guess because I’m not informed enough to make an opinion of that stature. But it will be interesting to see who ends up with the title and who Tharpe and company decide to have represent the new NWA going forward.
