[WWE News] John Cena Undergoes Surgery; Expected to Be Out for 2-3 Weeks
WWE reported today that John Cena underwent arm surgery to remove bone chips in his right elbow. According to the surgeon, the legendary Dr. James Andrews (if you’re a wrestling fan, you’re familiar with this name), Cena was beginning to lose motion in his right arm due to the chips and the elbow was locking up.
Fortunately for Cena (and frankly the WWE), the surgery was not only successful but relatively minor and Andrews estimates that Cena can return to in-ring action in 2-3 weeks. He will undergo another evaluation this Thursday, which may result in a change in the timetable for recovery, but probably by not that much. And with Hell in a Cell still 39 days away, it leaves enough time for recovery to make sure his all but guaranteed rematch with WWE Champion CM Punk goes off as planned. Someone tell the WWE officials it’s okay to breathe again.
